Earlier this week a friend linked me to this article about a photography project where women were asked to send in photos of their bellies with stories. Intrigued, I clicked and read. For as long as I can remember I’ve struggled to like my size, shape and form. Despite it changing (for the bad and good) over the years, I still don’t like it a great deal; but frankly people are sick of hearing about it.

I didn’t expect to have such an emotional reaction to the galleries of photos but I did. It got me thinking about a few things and while there hasn’t been a profound breakthrough, watching others bravely expose their midsections and write about their trials, achievements and acceptance has been incredibly moving.

Thank-you to those who sent in photos, even if none of them ever see this.
